Jeannie-

I like your diagram. I believe that you have covered most of the communication tools used. Have you ever used GoogleDocs. It allows for collaboration on spreadsheet or word document. Multiple people can be editing at the same time.

I have not, but my husband has, and the tech people at his school are big users of this type of collaboration. Thanks for the reminder, and I will look into playing around with this.
Thanks so much,
Jeannine

Jeannine -- I am a fan of how you chose to differentiate your graphic organizer in terms of formal and information communications as well as group versus individual to individual communications. It is rather intriguing to consider the communication methods from that perspective because it demonstrates the value of varied types of communication. At the same time all communications could be pooled together under the umbrella of networking. Do you imagine that youngsters even see a difference between formal versus informal communications when considering the various tools used in your description? When asking this question I make the assumption that the youngsters in question would have experience with online learning and are familiar with text messaging, skype, and other forms of electronic communications. Great graphic organizer!
